A small confession

Okay. I admit it. I use Halloween candy as stocking stuffers. (And I don't mean leftover candy that I bought to hand out. I mean candy that my kids got trick or treating.)

I use leftover Christmas candy to stuff Easter eggs.

I use leftover Easter candy to hand out to trick or treaters.

Which may be why I am convinced we have a few 3 year old tootsie rolls hanging around the pantry. Nobody likes tootsie rolls anyway.

And my kids have never caught on.

Just wait until they get a little older. My oldest has a sugar radar. If it's in the house she will find it!

(Actually I eat most of the candy way before it gets that old. I never buy it, because when it's here it calls to me and I can't resist.)

I could never leave candy in the house that long without eating it. We are lucky if we still have candy from a holiday a week later. Seriously. two days. I love candy.

I do the EXACT same thing! I used Halloween candy in Cohen's Christmas stocking. The Halloween candy we gave away was a big bag of lollipops that we bought for Cohen months earlier (those things never go bad, right?). And then we didn't have tons of trick-or-treaters, so we just keep re-using them. Over & over. Maybe someday we'll used them all up.

Funny, so do I!!! I might buy a few "new" pieces but for the most part, it's all recycled. Why waste money if they aren't going to eat it?!? It's never chocolate that's recycled because my husband snarfs that down it's just the candy stuff. I bought some Easter candy through the school fundraiser but I think that's it. I also save Easter toys for their baskets. I told them the Easter Bunny likes me to keep it so he can use it again. The kids don't seem to care or question it. I know this my be a limited time frame but I'll use it til I can't anymore.

Much love from NJ,
Sue

I personally think this is pretty genius! Except for the fact that I would know where it was hidden and I would eat all of it before the next holiday!
