Discussion Time

Okay, here's the question:

When, on occasion, you fall off the healthy eating wagon and buy a bag of chips or a box of Oreos, or (Heaven forbid) both, is it better to hunker down and eat the whole thing in one sitting or spread the goodness out over a few days?

P.S. Don't forget to enter the giveaway, if you haven't already!

Eat as much as you want in one sitting, and share, and then just throw the rest away. For me, the idea of wasting food like that motivates me not to buy it!

I eat constantly in order to beef up my fat stores for winter, just like the grizzly bears!

I eat as much as I want when I first open it I know I will totally enjoy it and then be done with it and hope that Im feeling guilty enough not to do that again!!! (yeah that never works)

I am incapable of spreading it out - if good stuff is in the house it's like the pantry has extra gravity, pulling me in.

Thanks for putting the donation button on your blog!

I definitely spread it out!

I'm a binge eater. ONE SITTING. (I'm pathetic and have no self-control.)

I'm all about "well, let's just get this over with."

Plus I feel virtuous for keeping my hubby and kids from the evilness.

Eat it quick or the kids will get to it!

I try to eat it all in one sitting so that it makes me sick. Then I end up with an aversion to whatever food it was because "it made me sick the last time I ate it". May not work for most people, but it sure works for me!

Buy two bags. Eat one right away, and make the other one last a few days.
See, it's the best of both worlds.

All at once. It's bad. I hate to admit that it happens about twice a week. Except the week before my period. Then it's every day.

I have no willpower.

Oh dear, good question---the calories will get there no matter which way we choose to go, but it is EASIER on my mind if I make it last over some time, like it justifies all the gazillion calories somehow ----
I love salt and vinegar potatoe chips.

I say spread it out. That way you feel like you get something good for a few days rather than just one. Also, you know if you eat it all in one sitting you're just going to go out and buy more, and then do it again, or at least I would.

I ate an entire package of double stuff oreos in one night. Guess you can see my opinion on the matter.

Spread it out, otherwise the next day when it is gone you will be really sad and go buy some more chips/cookies/whatever and do it all over again. :)

I spread it out. For sure.

I think I'd spread it out.

If I could I would eat it all at once. MINE! MINE! MINE! But my stomach isn't what it used to be. It would punish me for that. So, I spread it out. If it something particularly sinful I may hide some to be sure I get the last bit. ;)

I don't agree with my mom on this one I say eat it and then get it out of your house as fast as possible.

And then only eat salads the rest of the week!!

WHY can't we eat what we want and be skinny?

Okay, so... totally pregnant and not qualified to enter myself as an example. But last night, I ate one half of an entire bag of kettle cooked barbeque potato chips and would have continued had my husband not eaten the other half of the bag.

So I say, all at once. :)

Depends on what it is... sometimes it's one sitting, sometimes it's opened and tasted and left for the children, sometimes it's spread throughout the week...

Oh wow. What a good question. I try (somewhat) diligently to spread it out, but I always end up eating the entire package in less than 48 hours. Always.

Spread the goodness over a few days, for sure. Anticipation of some Oreos (or in my case, Godiva chocolates) tomorrow is a good thing and keeps me motivated. (does that make me weird?)
