tuesday confessional

It's possible that I have confessed this before.

I hate exercise.

Not all exercise. I love hiking and dancing and walking.

But exercise for the sake of exercise.  I hate it.

I hate it.

But I'm trying so hard to exercise. SO HARD.

But some days are harder than others.

Like the days I simply cannot roll out of bed at 5:50 am.

How do you people do this?

Zumba. That's the only way I can exercise. Though, for some reason, I'm thinking about running. So weird. I hate running. But I'm also seriously trying to lose weight for the first time in my life and want to do something more consistently. And free. Though I think I'd have to get up early to run and I'm pretty sure THAT'S not going to happen.

But for reals. Check out a zumba video from the library, or ask if anyone knows of classes. I go to a free one at 9 pm on tuesdays.

yeah some times I just sleep in, cuz my sleep come first :D, but I'm really gonna try to get up early next monday and go work out- it's so much more fun when you do it with friends!

I exercise at 8:45 with ladies from church- otherwise I would not do it.

The first two months are super hard and you basically have to force yourself with the greatest amount of will-power. After that it becomes addicting.

Got to agree with you on this one.
I hate exercise too......just for the sake of exercise.
Like you
I'd rather hike, bike, ride my horses, take a brisk walk.......something that seems like it has a Reason, and some enjoyment thrown in.
sometimes though, we just have to Exercise.

-Consistency is key. It sucks for everyone at first.

-I can not run without some really good, loud music. Seriously can't do it.

-It helps me to do what I feel like. If one day I want to swim instead of run, I swim. This is easier for me because I like to do so many things.

-another thing you could try is to plan out a schedule of what you are going to do at the beginning of the week and just stick to it. no matter what. After 3 weeks, you may enjoy it.

-get some cute workout clothes.

Hopefully that helps. Exercise can be fun. Really. :)

I have to change it up and do something different almost every day. Like for example, this morning, I ran to the end of the street and back then did a song on Wii Just Dance 2. Then I ran the street and two songs. Then ran and did three songs. And then I was done. It's the only way I can do it. Then next week I might run my block a few times with a podcast playing. Etc.

I'm with ya. I was SO good about exercising 7 or 8 years ago. But I had to get in the habit. It took a few months, but once I developed the habit, I couldn't NOT exercise. But the first couple of months, yeah, they're a bummer. And also? I need to take my own advice.
