Truly Tuesday

I thought I would take a page out of the Goddess's book today and try a truly Tuesday for you.

Here's my question:

How old does a child have to be (in your opinion) to

A: Stay home by themselves
B: Babysit younger siblings
C: Babysit other kids

I would say 8 to stay home alone---but only for short times during the day. Too scary at night. 8 or 9 during the day with younger siblings.

10 or 11 to stay with younger siblings at night.

12 or 13 to babysit other kids.

It totally depends on the kid, I think. Like, for instance, my kids are super immature. So NEVER. Although the thought of them babysitting themselves is something I happily entertain in my wildest imagination.

gosh, that is a hard question.
sometimes it is not an Age/number
but the maturity level

I was 11 when I started babysitting for my family and other families, but I had lots of practice being the oldest. I don't remember when I started staying alone, I don't think I got to be alone much with younger siblings. :) I don't know what I'll do w/ my kids, but I'm sure looking forward to it!
